Yin year plus male: reverse Luck Pillars

This case repeats the matrix with a Yin year stem. A Xin year is Yin, and a male input with a Yin year runs in reverse, which is the opposite of what the Yang-year male case produced. The pattern is that Yang plus male and Yin plus female run forward, while the other two combinations run backward.

Seeing the full matrix is more useful than learning the rule as a sentence, because the sentence is easy to misremember. Two of the four combinations run forward and two run backward, and the split is not along either input alone.

The practical use for a reader is as a check. If a tool tells you your sequence is forward, you can work out from your year stem and recorded gender whether that is consistent, without needing to trust the tool's internal logic.

That check has a limit worth stating. It confirms the tool applied the rule it claims to apply. It says nothing about whether the rule is meaningful, and it says nothing about the interpretation placed on the resulting periods. Those are separate questions, and a chart can be mechanically reproducible while the reading built on it remains a matter of tradition rather than measurement.
